Armenian chess teams score victories in European Team Chess Championship Round 7
The Armenian men’s chess team beat Russia 2.5-1.5 in the 7th round of the European Team Chess Championship in Warsaw. Gabriel Sargissian beat Evgeny Tomashevsky, ensuring a win for our team. Levon Aronian drew with Alexander Grischuk, Sergei Movsesian with Peter Svidler and Vladimir Akopian with Alexander Morozevich. The Armenian men’s team currently has 11 points and is sharing 2nd-3rd positions with Azerbaijan.
The Armenian women’s team beat Poland-2 3-1. Elina Danielian, Lilit Mkrtchian and Lilit Galojan beat Anna Iwanow, Klaudia Wisniowska and Mariola Wozniak, respectively. Maria Kursova lost to Oliwia Kiolbasa. The Armenian women’s team has 11 points and is currently 2nd.
