Kocharyan: Armenia will be ready to sign CU agreement by February
Armenia will be practically ready to sign the agreement on joining the Customs Union (CU) and the Common Economic Zone by February, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan has said at the joint meeting of the Armenian NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and the Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Ties with Compatriots of the Russian State Duma, according to ITAR-TASS.
According to Kocharyan, the roadmap for Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union is due to be approved by the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council on December 19.
In May 2014, the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council will begin the legalization of the Eurasian Economic Union “and beginning that moment, the Customs Union and the Common Economic Zone will join the Eurasian Economic Union,” Kocharyan said.
“We understand that ratification of such complex agreements requires certain time, but we would like this process to be carried out as quickly as possible,” Armenia’s Deputy FM said.
