Haykakan Zhamanak: Architects observe minute of silence for Closed Market
During the 18th congress of the Union of Architects of Armenia on Saturday, architects and Yerevan Deputy Mayor Kamo Areyan observed a minute of silence for the Closed Market and other “ruined” buildings, according to Haykakan Zhamanak daily.
The newspaper notes that the idea belonged to Union of Architects member Ruben Hakobyan who also mentioned the fate of the Sevan Hotel, the Youth Palace and Yerevan Circus. In their remarks, the architects called what happened to Covered Market as a “disgrace.”
Mkrtich Minasyan was reelected chairman of the Union of Architects of Armenia, the newspaper adds.
