Babayan: Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting is important in terms of maintenance of regional peace
Maintenance of peace and stability in the region are of utmost importance now and the meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Vienna on November 19 is very important in that respect, Karabakh President’s spokesman David Babayan told Panorama.am in an interview.
Commenting on the current situation in the negotiation process, Babayan said, “The international community realizes that the talks are unlikely to yield any serious results without Nagorno-Karabakh’s involvement in the negotiations. However, Azerbaijan does its utmost to maintain the current format of negotiations and to exclude Artsakh’s participation in the talks.”
“On the eve of the Presidents’ meeting, Azerbaijan continued its aggressive activity on the frontline. Under such circumstances, it is difficult to pin hopes on the negotiation process,” he concluded.
