Melik-Shahnazaryan: Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting will give renewed impetus to negotiations
The fact that the Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting took place is already a progress, political scientist Hrant Melik-Shahnazaryan told a news conference in Yerevan.
“Azerbaijan has repeatedly tried to change the Minsk Group format, but all its attempts failed,” he said.
According to the expert, the Vienna meeting between the two Presidents was aimed at giving a renewed impetus to the negotiation process.
“The Azeri authorities show that they are not ready for a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as they constantly make provocations, fire at civilian population and violate the ceasefire,” Melik-Shahnazaryan said, adding that he thinks that Azerbaijan will continue that policy.
