Harutyunyan: We should be prepared for both war and peace
We should be prepared for both war and peace and in this respect the Sargsyan-Aliyev meeting has some positive elements, director of Noravank Foundation Gagik Harutyunyan told reporters in Yerevan, while commenting on the November 19 meeting between the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The meeting took place after about 2.5 years’ interval. Both Presidents are newly elected, so they have much time to think and take a decision,” Harutyunyan said.
Among the factors that could impact the Nagorno-Karabakh peace talks he mentioned the weakening of Azerbaijan’s economic capabilities in the coming years due to the exhaustion of energy resources, Armenia’s future accession to the Eurasian Union as well as wider regional developments such as the U.S.-Russia agreement on Syria and U.S.-Iran nuclear talks.
