Zhoghovurd: Armenian PM makes scandalous statement
Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan made another scandalous statement yesterday, according to Zhoghovurd daily.
“Armenia ranks first in the world in terms of starting a business. In no other country it is as easy to register a business as in Armenia. But quitting a business should be difficult,” Tigran Sargsyan said at the cabinet meeting.
“It should be noted that the PM was in a good mood, he talked to government members and joked, but he made that statement with all seriousness. The PM’s words mean that if anyone decides to do business in Armenia, he will become an eternal captive of the authorities and can never get rid of them. The point is that it is very easy to register a business in Armenia, but the terrible conditions emerge only after you start working: regular changes in tax laws, rackets by tax and other law enforcement agencies or criminal elements, etc.,” the newspaper notes.
