MNS claims that two suspects calling for terror through Facebook are detained
Two citizens suspected in preparation for a terrorist act are detained in Azerbaijan. According to Azerbaijani special services, the suspects had already purchased weapons; suspects spread about their intention of committing a terrorist attack through the social network Facebook.
According to the Azerbaijani news agency "1news.az" referring to the Public Relations Center of the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan, MNS detained citizens of Azerbaijan Mirzoev Nariman Khosrow oglu and Rustamov Mirzakhmed Shakir oglu. They are suspected of preparing terrorist actions aimed at killing people and of illegal acquisition of a large number of firearms, ammunition and explosives.
The main Investigation Department of the MNS filed a criminal case according to Articles 28, 214.2.1, 28, 214.2.3 (terrorism) and 228.2.1 (illegal purchase, storage, transportation of firearms, parts and ammunition by a group of people with prior agreement) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Nariman Mirzoev and Mirzakhmed Rustamov are involved as defendants; by the court's decision preventive measure are undertaken in the form of arrest.
The report said that in October 2013, on the page of the user logged under the name of Enekin Skayvoker in the social network Facebook, a statement was made stating that "emir Farman Cetin" who was currently in Gusar region of Azerbaijan had received from “Sheikh Mirzahmada al-Gussari" a fatwa to commit a "jihad" in Azerbaijan. Besides, in the profile of Enekin Skayvoker a joint photograph of Farman Cetin and Sheikh al-Mirzahmad al-Gussar was published with a knife in his hands. Under this photograph, along with the "fatwa to commit a jihad," there were also calls to murder Hasanov Shahin Huseyn oglu the akhoond of Baku mosque "Meshedi Dadash".
It is also reports that the MNS officers of Azerbaijan found that the person presenting himself as "Farman Cetin," is Nariman Mirzoev, and the one who claim to be "Sheikh Mirzahmad al-Gussari" is Mirzakhmed Rustamov. "It is known that Nariman Mirzoyev, Mirzakhmed Rustamov and others in April 2012 came to an agreement with each other to commit terrorist acts, i.e. explosions aimed at disrupting public security, creating panic among the population by using firearms and objects used as a weapons," the MNS reports.
In MNS claims that for this purpose Nariman Mirzoyev, Mirzakhmed Rustamov and others acquired, stored, transported and carried a large quantity of arms and ammunition. They conducted surveillance around the temple area for exploding the "Meshedi Dadash" mosque in Baku, which is one of the crowded places. Furthermore, Mirzoyev ordered Rustamov to prepare a special hiding place in the woods of Gusar region in order to hide from the prosecution of the law enforcement agencies after committing the crime. After the completion of the preparatory work, Nariman Mirzoyev, in order to gather all like-minded people, posted on the page of his social network facebook a call on "beginning a Jihad", as well as killing akhoond Shahin Hasanov. But because of some reasons not depending on them, they failed to commit the planned crime, the report says.
As a result of the urgent operations carried out by the Ministry of National Security, Nariman Mirzayev and Mirzahmad Rustamov were detained. 1 Makarov MP 371 pistol, 1 cartridge clip and 8 cartridges were seized from Nariman Mirzayev, 1 Kalashnikov gun, 1 cartridge clip, 14 cartridges, 3 F-1 hand grenades from his house, 1 Makarov MP 371 pistol, 1 cartridge clip and 8 cartridges were seized from Mirzahmad Rustamov, 2 F-1 hand grenades were found in his house.
The MNS report also said that, in 2008, as a result of the terrorist act committed by people that call themselves "true Muslims Ahl-Sunnah", and where praying in the mosque, "Abu Bakr," 2 people were killed and 18 Sunni wounded.
