Today marks World Information Day
November 26 is celebrated as World Information Day on the initiative of the International Informatization Academy (IIA), which has general counselor status at the Economic and Social Council of the UN, as well as the World Information Parliament.
On November 26, 1992 the first International Information Forum was held on the initiative of the International Informatization Academy. This day was officially registered by UNESCO in 1994.
Information in the broadest sense is the data transmitted among human beings in oral, writing, or in any other way. Information has always played a very important role in human life. However, since the mid-20th century as a result of social progress and rapid development of science and technology, its role has grown immeasurably.
