‘Armenian leadership launches efficient and logical cooperation with Russia’
Russia seeks to become a power pole, and will cooperate with its allies, including with Armenia, for that purpose, political scientist Levon Shirinyan told reporters in Yerevan, while commenting on allocation of new land plots to Gyumri’s Russian military base.
Given the Turkish threat, Armenia’s political and military leadership decided to allocate those land plots to the Russian military base, he said. “Armenia’s political and military leadership decided to launch efficient and logical cooperation with Russia.”
According to Shirinyan, there are plans to modernize and enlarge Gyumri’s Russian military base and this process is also in the interests of Armenia’s national security.
“Geopolitical cooperation is forming between Moscow, Yerevan and Tehran,” he concluded.
