64 percent favor Armenia’s entry into Customs Union – survey
A survey conducted among 1,067 people in Armenia on October 9-16 shows that 64 percent of respondents favor Armenia’s entry into the Russia-led Customs Union.
Gallup International Association Armenia director Aram Navasardyan presented the results of the survey, conducted by the Armenian Marketing Association, at a news conference today.
The survey aimed to reveal political and economic expectations of Armenian citizens.
38 percent of respondents said that Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union will boost economic growth, 26 percent said it will lead to decrease of prices and 8 percent said it will lead to rise of prices. 17 percent replied that Armenia’s accession to CU will change nothing.
In response to the question, “Which value system is closer to that of Armenia,” 49 percent mentioned the CIS countries and 20 percent European countries.
