Monument to Armenian-Russian friendship unveiled in Yerevan
A monument called United Cross, symbolizing Armenian-Russian friendship, was today installed at the crossroads of Moskovyan, Nalbandyan and Isahakyan Streets in Yerevan.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, Russian Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov and Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan.
The monument was unveiled by Tigran Sargsyan and Maxim Sokolov.
Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan said in his remarks that the monument symbolizes warm feelings between the Armenian and Russian peoples, adding that “Armenia and Russia are allies and their relations are based on common values.”
Maxim Sokolov said for his part that “our relations are strategic, which is testified by Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visit to Armenia.”
