Haykakan Zhamanak: Gay couple lives with parents
There have been gay marriages in Armenia as well. Haykakan Zhamanak writes that it learnt about one such case. The gay couple lives with the parents of one of them after the wedding. The marriage was not registered and no wedding was held in a church, the couple only lit a candle for good luck. Their parents accepted the fact.
Speaking to Haykakan Zhamanak, the mother of one of them said, “No one knows what I feel deep inside. I wouldn’t wish what is taking place in my home even to my worst enemy. I don’t know what was wrong in my upbringing of him. But he is my son and I will not reject him because of his sexual orientation.”
