Imitation elements dominate Turkey’s policy – expert
Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu’s visit to Armenia was for propaganda: its aim was to make an impression that Turkey continues seeking normalization of relations with Armenia, Turkish studies expert Ruben Melkonyan told reporters.
According to the expert, Armenian-Turkish relations remained frozen in 2013, with Turkey going on with its destructive policy.
“In 2013, imitation elements dominated Turkey’s policy, aimed at showing the international community that Armenian-Turkish relations are passive, but still they are going on,” he said.
Melkonyan also said that in 2013 Turkey went on with its efforts to interfere in the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process.
“At all meetings Turkish officials tried to touch upon the subject of Karabakh conflict so as to make an impression that they are involved in the process,” he concluded.
