Year 2013 marked by stability and missed opportunities, analyst says
From the point of view of domestic policy, we can say that 2013 was a year of stability and, at the same time, of missed opportunities, political scientist Sergey Minasyan said during a public debate at the Caucasus Institute on Friday.
According to him, Armenia’s ruling power became stronger as a result of the presidential and Yerevan municipal elections held in 2013. The expert noted that one of the main reasons of this is that the key parliamentary forces did not run in the presidential elections.
Minasyan said that the next important stage will be the parliamentary elections of 2017, adding that only serious force majeure events may change the domestic political situation in the country.
