One in ten families in Armenia go to sleep hungry
According to official data, 37% of families in Armenia are poor, with 7% being extremely poor, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan told reporters in Yerevan, adding that according to their data of 2012, 47% of families are poor.
According to him, 20% of the Armenian population consider themselves poor. The sociologist said that out of 47% of poor families, 10% go to sleep hungry and 37% manage to solve the food problem. He stressed that one in ten families in Armenia go to sleep hungry.
The most well-off province of Armenia is Syunik and the poorest are Tavush and the border villages, Adibekyan said.
