Special session of parliament to be accompanied by protest
The voting on the agreement on purchase and sale terms of ArmRosGazprom CJSC’s shares and its further activities during today’s special session of parliament will be accompanied by a protest action near the parliament building.
In an open letter to MPs published on Facebook, the organizer of the protest action, civil group ‘It’s up to us to decide,’ called on them not to vote for the ratification of Armenian-Russian agreements.
The December 20 special session of parliament discussed a number of agreements, including the agreements on cooperation between the Armenian and Russian governments in supply of natural gas, oil products and diamonds, gas price formation and purchase and sale terms of ArmRosGazprom CJSC’s shares and its further activities.
The opposition parliamentary factions of the Armenian National Congress, ARF Dashnaktsutyun and Heritage are against the agreement. The Prosperous Armenia faction did not vote on the agreements.
