SCPEC chief: Entry into CU will give wide opportunities to Armenian businessmen
Armenia’s entry into the Customs Union will play a big role in the development of competitiveness and weakening the centralization of markets, Artak Shaboyan, chairman of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SCPEC), told a news conference on Wednesday.
According to him, the small country and the small number of domestic markets are the main challenges of competitiveness in Armenia.
“Native goods are unable to compete with the imported ones in terms of price,” he said.
Armenia’s accession to the Customs Union will give wide opportunities to Armenian businessmen with regard to exports and entry into external markets, the SCPEC chairman stressed.
