Armenian Public Television to be commercials-free
There will be no advertisements on the Public Television of Armenia in the near future, as decided by the cabinet meeting, which today approved the bills on amendments and addenda to the Law on Television and Radio and an amendment to the Law on Advertising.
Social advertising and announcements about sponsors of cultural and sports programs will be the only exception, but no more than one announcement about a sponsor must be broadcast during each show.
Commenting on the decision, the government said that the adoption of the laws by the parliament will reduce the time given to commercials and that the Public Television will instead broadcast programs having a higher value and importance.
