Azerbaijani political scientist: U.S. is focus at returning Nagorno-Karabakh to negotiating table
Commenting on a recent interview with U.S. co-chair of OSCE Minsk Group James Warlick given to "Radio Liberty", where he outlined the Nagorno-Karabakh as a separate entity, Azerbaijani political scientist Tofig Abbasov stated that it was not a random statement.
As the Azerbaijani information agency 1news.az reports, Abbasov stated, “This is not the first time that Western diplomats, especially those who represent the American establishment, represent Nagorno-Karabakh as a party to the negotiations. It is not of a random nature.”
The Azerbaijani political scientist is sure that American diplomacy aims exactly to "pull the ears" of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh to the negotiating table.
“Warlick persistently emphasizes that during the visit to Nagorno-Karabakh he met with Karabakh people and listened to them. Against this background, he indicates that he is ready to listen to the representatives of civil society in Azerbaijan. Why not to listen to the representatives of the Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh region,” the Azerbaijani political scientist stated.
According to Abbasov, Warlick carefully put down precisely those accents that suit the Armenian side to give support to the official Yerevan, which means to see the so-called "NKR" at the negotiating table.
“Along with this, in the interview Warlick strongly wants to separate the Armenian-Turkish reconciliation from the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. Americans are long attuned to it, and want to split and then solve these two problems,” Tofig Abbasos stated.
Commenting on the James Warlick’s words that a new generation is growing in Karabakh the Azerbaijani political scientist stated, “Yes, the American co-chair is addressable talking about the new generation of Karabakh, referring to the Armenians.”
