New Year holiday passed as normal in Armenia, sociologist says
We are moving towards market democracy – the more we work the more we earn, director of Sociometer Research Center, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan says.
The New Year holiday passed as normal in Armenia, the sociologist told reporters on Thursday, citing a recent survey by the Center.
According to him, 5-7 percent of Armenians spent the New Year holiday outside their homes - in Tsakhkadzor or Dilijan - or outside the country.
Adibekyan also said that the number of beggars and homeless people decreased during the New Year holiday period. “This fact suggests that they have a place to stay.”
