'Syria’s destiny concerns us' - Lavrov to Jarba
Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with the head of the Syrian Opposition’s National Coalition Ahmad Jarba in Paris on Sunday, the Voice of Russia reported.
“I realize how much your country’s destiny concerns you,” Mr. Lavrov said to Mr. Jarba. “We in Russia are also concerned about Syria’s destiny.”
The Russian Foreign Minister came to Paris to discuss preparations for the coming international conference on Syria in Geneva.
Earlier on Sunday, a meeting of foreign ministers of 11 countries that form the “Syria’s Friends” group took place in Paris. Ahmad Jarba and Secretary General of Syria’s National Coalition Bader Jamous also took part in this meeting.
