Shant Harutyunyan allowed to meet relatives
Tseghakron Party leader Shant Harutyunyan, who has been held in custody for more than two months now, is now allowed to meet his relatives, his wife, Ruzanna Badalyan, told Panorama.am.
“We are planning to visit him soon,” she added.
Shant Harutyunyan ended his hunger strike on January 10. His health deteriorated and he was moved to Convicts’ Hospital penal institution where he began to consume food.
Shant Harutyunyan went on hunger strike on December 24 to protest against the ban on meeting his relatives and unlawful actions towards him.
On November 5 of last year, Shant Harutyunyan initiated a march in central Yerevan, which turned violent as demonstrators put to use hand-made explosives and sticks to confront the security forces. He was arrested after the clashes with the police.
