Today marks Beatles Day
January 16 marks Beatles Day. Legendary group The Beatles was approved by UNESCO on this day in 2001.
From 1962 until their breakup in 1970, the group consisted of John Lennon (rhythm guitar, vocals), Paul McCartney (bass guitar, vocals), George Harrison (lead guitar, vocals) and Ringo Starr (drums, vocals).
In 2004, the Rolling Stone magazine unveiled the best 500 songs of all time, where 23 songs were those by The Beatles.
The quartet stopped being a band in 1970, its four members focused on their solo projects.
The Beatles were undoubtedly the most influential band of the century. In a course of 8 years, they changed not only rock and roll, but also the face of all music forever.
This day, fans around the world are organizing many events dedicated to the legendary band.
