Serzh Sargsyan: Azeri provocations are a serious obstacle to negotiations progress
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with outgoing EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Philippe Lefort.
The President welcomed Philippe Lefort, stressing that the important post of the European Union’s Special Representative for the South Caucasus is evidence of the EU’s interest in regional security and stability. Serzh Sargsyan thanked Philippe Lefort for his contribution to the expansion of cooperation between Armenia and the EU and for his efforts to boost regional security and peace and wished him success in his further activities.
Speaking about the Nagorno-Karabakh peace process within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group, Serzh Sargsyan expressed deep concern over the Azeri side’s continuous provocations at the line of contact of Karabakh and Azeri troops and the ceasefire violations in recent days, stressing that they are a serious obstacle to progress in the negotiation process, the presidential press service reported.
