None of Snowden’s revelations are new - Mark Glenn
Press TV has conducted an interview with Mark Glenn, an author and journalist, about a new poll conducted by USA TODAY and the Pew Research Center showing that a majority of Americans oppose the National Security Agency's (NSA) data-collection practices.
- Looking at this new opinion poll now, it says basically the majority of people though, they are saying that they do not want to sacrifice their freedom even with the excuse of terrorism.
Will it make a difference as far as what they really want and what will actually continue to be implemented by the NSA?
- Well it is a little late for them to be getting concerned about losing their freedoms because all of this has been going on since immediately after 9/11. A time for the American people to begin worrying about the loss of freedom began when the Patriot Act was being discussed.
Now at that time the American people who were in full-blown panic mode of what has just taken place on 9/11, despite the fact that there were warnings about threats to our civil liberties and all the rest of that, the American people did not care. All they wanted was the situation to be fixed, that it never happened again. So you know it is a little bit late for them to be worrying about this. The time to be worrying was as I said a decade ago.
Now as to whether or not it will make any difference, no, I do not believe that it will. The NSA and the US intelligence community is deeply entrenched in what it is doing and you know it is uncomfortable as this may sound to many of the listeners here at this program.
The one question that has to be asked is how many real terrorist attempts from Israel have actually been thwarted as a result to this program? The NSA has been doing this as I said for a long time and none of these news that came out with Snowden’s revelations, none of it is new.
So at this time why all of a sudden the same media that was pushing for the destruction of Iraq and which has been pushing for the destruction of Iran, all of a sudden now has taken an interest in the NSA and in domestic spying and in the loss of civil liberties?
I think that this is a question that needs to be asked whether or not this has been done to put pressure on Obama in order to get him to cave in to Benjamin’s Netanyahu’s demands for war on Iran.
- Well you posed a question mark, I am going to let you answer. Do you think that this is the case? Your take on that question.
- Yes my personal opinion is that given the fact that there is nothing about Snowden’s revelations that is new that what actually was at work here was a NSA spying program that was monitoring Benjamin Netanyahu’s hired thugs in America who were about to pull something off in order to blame it on Iran and to get the United States on the same war footing that she was immediately after 9/11 and it is very possible.
Again this is just a thesis that the NSA was about to go public with some very embarrassing information about Israeli spying or possible Israeli false flags in America and Israel got aware of it and this is why the entire Snowden operation was put into motion before the NSA could go public.
