For the past few days three more "emergency situations" occurred in the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan: an officer was killed, one soldier shot himself, and the other one escaped.

According to the Azerbaijani news agency "APA" in Terter district an officer of Azerbaijani armed forces was killed. The Azerbaijani news agency also claims that Elnur Jafarov, the captain of the armed forces of the republic, was killed by a shot from the Armenian side. Terter region of Azerbaijan is bordering with Martakert region of NKR.

The agency also reports that in another region an Azerbaijani soldier has just escaped from a military unit located in Gazakh region bordering with Armenia. The press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan stated that Huseyn Orujali oglu Akhmedov, the soldier of the military unit, had willfully left the place of service.

"APA" notes that another Azerbaijani soldier shot himself dead by a government-issue weapon. The incident was recorded in the guards regiments of Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of Azerbaijan. Soldier Regiment Vasif Shamil oglu Suleymanov "as a result of breaching the safety regulations shot in his foot from government-issue weapon." Wounded soldier is hospitalized. Mehman Sadigov, the head of the Public Relations of the Penitentiary Service told the agency that investigation is underway.

On January 21, 2014 Azerbaijani Defense Ministry acknowledged the injury of four soldiers. It was reported that the 19-year-old soldier Royal Ramiz Huseynov had "injured himself by the government-issue weapon," and other three Azerbaijani military officers were hurt in an accident. All the four soldiers were wounded "in the frontal zone." On January 22, 2014 "due to an illness" died Azerbaijani Army career soldier Akbar Ajar oglu Aliyev, who served in Nakhijevan. On the same day the 19-year-old Azerbaijani soldier Hagani Manaf oglu Huseynov "shot himself as a result of handling carelessly with the weapon."

YTD Azerbaijani Defense Ministry has confirmed deaths of six soldiers already, 4 of them committed suicide. Also, 12 soldiers were wounded, six of which were wounded as a result of accident, 2 - as a result of suicide attempts and 3 - due to careless handling of weapons.
