Azerbaijani investigators torture Iranian citizen
“The Azerbaijani investigators tortured Iranian citizen Bahram Feizi to get his confessions” according to Iranian Fars News Agency Feizi’s wife said.
Note, that according to the Iranian IRNA News Agency, Baku Court on Grave Crimes has sentenced Iran’s citizen Bahram Feizi to 15 years imprisonment on charges of espionage mission committed for Iran and an attempt to attack the embassy of Israel.
As the Iranian source indicates, the wife of Bahram Feizi, who is a citizen of Azerbaijan when speaking about her husband, specifically noted. “My husband is innocent. I was twice taken to the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, they threatened me. The investigators forced Bahram to accept the charges presented by them.”
“Bahram, to prove his innocence went on hunger strike for 26 days. He even cut his veins because of violent tortures. He is in a bad condition now,” the wife of the arrested Iranian citizen said.
Note that Marzieh Afkham, Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman referring to the above mentioned incident particularly noted. “Iran has conducted a consular investigation concerning Feizi’s case. He has been arrested without any grounds. The ambassador of Azerbaijan has been invited to Foreign Ministry of Iran to conduct negotiations about the incident. During the meeting we’ve emphasized that Bahram Feizi has been arrested without any grounds and that Azerbaijan should immediately release him.”
As well note that recently the security forces of Azerbaijan arrested another Iranian citizen Hasan Faraji for only passing near the embassy of Israel. Due to the combined efforts of Iran’s Foreign Ministry and the embassy of Iran to Azerbaijan Faraji has been released recently.
