Working group of State Commission on Genocide Centennial begins activities
The working group of the state commission tasked with coordinating the commemoration activities for the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide has already begun its activities, commission secretary Hayk Demoyan told Panorama.am.
Demoyan noted that the working group is currently specifying the schedule of planned events and discussing proposals received from citizens and various bodies.
Regarding selection of a film for the Genocide Centennial, Demoyan said that five films were selected during the 10th Golden Apricot Film Festival, but the commission has made no decision on the issue and has yet to examine the films.
Mr Demoyan stressed that the working group works intensively and in line with the schedule, with a number of programs, meetings and discussions, however, according to him, not all its activities are made public.
The State Commission on Genocide Centennial was set up by a decree of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan dated April 23, 2011.
