Health Minister: Infant death rate declines in Armenia
The infant death rate has declined in Armenia, Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan told reporters on Wednesday.
The Minister stressed that the current record is the best one so far.
“In 2013, the infant death rate in Armenia was twice lower than the average infant death rate in CIS. At the same time, it was twice higher than the average rate in Europe. The work in this direction will continue and the mother and child healthcare will be among the priorities of our healthcare system,” Dumanyan said.
The Minister also said that Armenia registered progress in maternal death rate decline, though the rate is still high as compared to European countries.
