IRI ambassador to Armenia calls on Iranian businessmen to make investment in Armenia
“Iran and Armenia tend to increase the trade volumes till one milliard dollars,” IRI ambassador to Armenia Mohammad Raiesi told Iranian news agency ISNA
IRI ambassador has touched upon the leading economic fields and has noted in particular, “Armenia is a rather rich country from the point of view of its natural minerals. It is one of the biggest molybdenum producers in the world. It is rich also with its reserves of gold, copper, iron, mercury as well as different kinds of natural stones.”
Ambassador Raiesi has criticized the Iranian investors for not being involved in Armenian economic affairs, and has noted, “Turkey is in not good relations with Armenia, however most of the staff found in Armenian market is of Turkish origin.”
IRI ambassador to Armenia has touched upon the present stage of the Armenian – Iranian economic relation and has noted that the construction of Meghri hydroelectric power plant and the third power transmission line is considered to be a positive step.
“Last year the trade turnover between Armenia and Iran has reached around 320 million dollars. Iran is on the fourth place among the trade partners of Armenia. However the result of the trade turnover is unsatisfactory in presence of the given opportunities. The two countries make every effort to reach it to one milliard dollars,” Iran’s ambassador has added.
