Zhoghovurd: Catholicos Karekin II and Hovik Abrahamyan leave for UAE
Zhoghovurd daily has touched upon the information published by the newspaper on January 21 saying that Armenian National Assembly Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan and Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II will visit the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at the invitation of a rich Arab sheikh.
“The information was officially confirmed yesterday, with the parliament’s official website saying that Mr Abrahamyan began a two-day working visit to UAE on January 29. The Information Services of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin has not reported that Catholicos Karekin II has left for UAE. But our sources said that the NA Speaker and Catholicos were seen at the airport and that they flew by the same plane. The point is that the Arab sheikh who invited them to UAE has sponsored the construction of an Armenian church,” the newspaper writes.
