Zhoghovurd: Trial of minister’s son to begin today
The first court hearing into the case of David Vardanyan, the son of Armenian Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Yuri Vardanyan, will be held today in the first instance court of Syunik province. David Vardanyan is currently in custody, Zhoghovurd daily writes.
David Vardanyan faces criminal charges under the Criminal Code’s Article 268 part 3 (illegal turnover of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in large amounts without the intent to sell) and Article 215 part 2 (smuggling of narcotic drugs, psychotropic, addictive, poisonous substances, radioactive or explosive materials).
