Haykakan Zhamanak: Sheriff may give up parliament seat due to health problems
Former commander of Armenian police troops Grigor Grigoryan nicknamed Sheriff, who is currently a Member of Parliament from Prosperous Armenia Party, may soon give up his parliament seat due to serious health problems, Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
Armenian National Assembly speaker Hovik Abrahamyan said at the parliament session Wednesday that Grigoryan has submitted an application to resign as deputy chairman of National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs. His resignation will enter into force unless he withdraws his application within three days. Prosperous Armenia member Abraham Manukyan will replace Grigoryan in the parliament commission.
