Zhamanak: Dilijan Mayor proposes residents working instead of Municipality
Residents of the city of Dilijan told Zhamanak newspaper on Thursday that their water supply was interrupted four days ago. The newspaper sent an inquiry to Dilijan Mayor Armen Santrosyan, in response to which he said: “First of all, the water supply was interrupted not four days ago, but only on February 4-5 due to the cold weather.”
The Mayor said that special groups have been set up in Dilijan to respond rapidly to complaints and help citizens unfreeze frozen pipes. Regarding detached houses, the Municipality is not able to serve several thousand houses, he said, adding that “they should do that on their own as the pipes froze in their own houses or gardens.”
Asked how a resident can unfreeze a frozen pipe on his own, the Mayor said: “Just as the Municipality does it.”
