Europe will press Turkey, try to gain Armenia’s favor – expert
Europe will become active ahead of the Armenian Genocide Centennial: it will press Turkey and try to gain Armenia’s favor, political scientist Alexander Manasyan told reporters in Yerevan.
According to the expert, Turkey with its current behavior, democracy and Europeanization level is not welcome in the European Union.
Asked why Europe should try to gain Armenia’s favor, given the fact that Armenia is joining the Customs Union, Manasyan said that both the European Union and the U.S. treat Armenia’s decision with understanding.
In his words, Europe follows principles of prospective diplomacy and therefore this or that step of Armenia cannot drastically change the situation.
