ANC activists detained in Yerevan
Several activists from the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) were detained by police last night in Yerevan.
One of the activists, Tatevik Poghpatyan, told Panorama.am that the activists were taken to a police station and were released in three hours.
Tatul Saroyan, Areg Gevorgyan, Sargis Gevorgyan, Hayk Petrosyan, David Vardanyan, Andranik Davtyan, Karen Hakobyan, Vardan Harutyunyan and Tatevik Poghpatyan were detained.
ANC lawyer Armen Khachatryan told Panorama.am that administrative cases were opened against the activists.
The Armenian National Congress is due to hold a rally on March 1. Last night, the ANC activists tried to post announcements about the rally in Yerevan streets.
