Yerevan metro employees stage protest against pension reform
More than a dozen employees of Yerevan metro staged today a protest outside the metro building against the introduction of the compulsory accumulative pension system in Armenia. The metro employees demanded not to make pension payments from their salaries, saying that the transfer of over AMD 5,000 from their salaries can considerably affect their social condition. They passed a letter to management.
Yerevan metro is the third organization to protest against the compulsory accumulative pension system. The staff of the Opera and Ballet Theatre and the employees of the South Caucasus Railway Company (SCRC) staged a similar protest two days ago.
