'Bahrain revolution will finally win'
Press TV has conducted an interview with Redwan Rizk, political analyst, about the Bahraini regime beefing up security measures as the Persian Gulf kingdom braces for more nationwide protest rallies to mark the third anniversary of the 2011 revolution.
- One question that we could ask about the revolutionary movement in Bahrain is what phase or stage do you think it currently is in because we know three years on, the demonstrators have not managed to achieve anything tangible, so to speak, in terms of reforms or a political movement but do you think it is still a move that is making progress?
- Well I do believe so because what we have heard that the ruler of Bahrain, Al Khalifa, is now just being a bit, not very happy with the stance of the United States and he is regretting that the United States policy in the region is suffering [from] a very severe schizophrenia and pushing Bahrain towards Russia.
These all are symptoms of what Al Khalifa are suffering now or they are facing reality that the regime cannot last for longer than that. It has been for three years and the protesters are willing and have the will to go for another three years.
Saudi Arabia is [stumbling] with its problems and it is giving all it can to Bahrain but it seems not enough. So the whole camp of those allies with Israel and United States are facing difficult time and the other side is winning on part of the revolution of Bahrain, so the regime no matter what how brutal will be and it is stripping, jailing people, killing people and stripping people of their citizenship against all kind of laws in the world, against any kind of human rights.
So this revolution has succeeded to bring this regime on its knees and admitting that they are facing difficult time and they will not go forever like that. So all it can that the revolution of Bahrain must not show any kind of regression or tiredness in order to keep going as strong as it is now and must achieve something, some reforms in the government because the negotiation is not leading anywhere so far.
But [in] my opinion, I am very optimistic that at the end this opposition will be able to achieve something real on reforming this government and gaining all the rights that was taken from the Bahraini people, from many Bahraini people, the majority of Bahraini people and this regime in the end will leave and the Bahraini people will win their freedom and will win to reform a very democratic country and recognize all the rights for all Bahrainis despite their religion and despite their sects and their beliefs.
So disrespect will bring the real truth, real freedom to Bahrain and the Bahraini revolution will be the winner in the end and the government will have no way out and no escape but admitting the rights and recognizing the rights of the Bahraini people.
