President: Pension reform is aimed at Armenia’s future
There has been no country where pension reform proceeded smoothly and without discontent, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said in his remarks at the 10th congress of Yerkrapah Volunteer Union.
The results of the reform will become visible some time later, while the people want an immediate improvement, he added.
According to the President, the decision was made following long discussions and that step was taken consciously because the reform is “aimed at Armenia’s future and is being made for our children and grandchildren.”
“The issue was discussed by all previous governments. The current government decided to resolve this issue and I absolutely support it because such a solution is really needed,” Serzh Sargsyan said.
Regarding pension funds, the President said that they will boost the economic development of the country.
