NSC Secretary discusses alternative punishment strategy
Armenia’s National Security Council (NSC) Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan chaired a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the development of a strategy of infliction of alternative punitive measures in Armenia, the press service of NSC reports.
The meeting discussed a draft document on the introduction of a probation service in Armenia.
It was noted that international experience of alternative punishment, in particular the experience of EU member countries, has been studied in the context of socioeconomic progress of these countries over the past years.
A decision was made to submit the draft for approval at the next meeting of NSC.
According to Arthur Baghdasaryan, “the establishment of a probation service in Armenia has social and public significance.”
