The Azerbaijanis who for various crimes have been declared wanted by Interpol go to fight in Syria.

Given the fact that if they return to Azerbaijan they will be sentenced to life imprisonment, the spread of the photos allegedly confirming their death is a very good idea, it is reported by Azerbaijani news portal FaktHeber.

It is noted in the article that afterwards they can return to Azerbaijan by a false passport and continue their terroristic activities already at home.

Thus, going to Syria and becoming a “killed” one is beneficial for wanted criminals of Azerbaijan. This will help them to escape justice, the article reads.

According to political scientist Ilham Ismail if a person is wanted by Interpol it means that he has committed a serious crime. “That is the reason why this kind of people can use Syria in line with their own interests,” he clarified.

He noted that a criminal case is not closed as long as law enforcement bodies get assured about the death of allegedly killed in Syria, while a photo confirming the death of a criminal doesn’t mean anything.

“The bodies of many are not brought to Azerbaijan. We learn about the deaths of certain people from mass media,” Ismail said.

He added that the dangerous Azerbaijani terrorists who fight in Syria and who make up rumors about their death can return to Azerbaijan under a false name.

“They can obtain fake documents from the same organizations that send them to fight in Syria. These organizations have their own goals. Therefore, a great responsibility lies on law enforcement bodies,” Ismail summed up.

Note that recently, reports on elimination of Azerbaijani terrorists have become more frequent. Since the beginning of 2014 Azerbaijani news agency "APA" reported about 24 cases of elimination of terrorists from Azerbaijan in Syria.

Besides, information is released about the elimination of Azerbaijani terrorists in Afghanistan. Last week the Azerbaijani media reported about the liquidation of 5 Azerbaijani fighters in Afghanistan. Earlier they all had been declared as internationally wanted.
