Iskandaryan: Neither Russia nor Europe needs Ukraine
Currently, Ukraine has no possibility to act as a state, political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan says.
“In the current situation, neither Russia nor Europe needs Ukraine,” the expert told reporters in Yerevan, adding that if the conflicting sides fail to reach an agreement, the consequences can be disastrous.
“I believe that Ukraine is unlikely to be divided formally. It will remain de jure a united state. However, de facto the absence of central government can last very long. The Ukraine events bear resemblance to the developments in the Middle East,” Iskandaryan said.
