Mamikon Khojoyan to be moved to Yerevan
Released captive Mamikon Khojoyan will be moved to St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan due to a need of a specialized medical examination, assistant to Armenian Health Minister Seda Manukyan told Panorama.am.
On order from Armenian Health Minister Derenik Dumanyan, a council of physicians was convened today to assess the health condition of Mamikon Khojoyan. A traumatologist was sent to Ijevan Medical Center where Khojoyan was taken after being released from Azeri captivity.
Mamikon Khojoyan, 77, is a resident of Verin Karmiraghbyur village in Armenia’s Tavush province. He was taken captive on January 28, 2014. He suffers from a mental disorder. Khojoyan was handed over under the patronage of ICRC employees in the border zone, on the highway between the Armenian city of Ijevan and Azerbaijani city of Ghazakh on March 4. He is currently at Ijevan Medical Center and has serious health problems.
