EU ambassador to Baku: EU is ready to support process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement
EU is ready to support process of Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement conducted under the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. According to Azerbaijani news agency APA, Head of EU delegation to Azerbaijan, Malena Mard said about this to journalists.
“The negotiation process of Nagorno Karabakh is mediated by OSCE Minsk Group but as EU has declared we are ready to support and want to help to move the process conducted under the framework of OSCE Minsk group,” the Ambassador said.
On its turn, Azerbaijani news portal Haqqin.az reports that Malena Mard as well has touched upon the relations between EU and Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijan will have to decide itself how to further develop relations with EU,” she said, noting that both sides are interested in deepening of political as well as economic association.
Mard noted that Azerbaijan and EU cooperate under the framework of Eastern Partnership. “EU appreciates this cooperation with Azerbaijan. It is in the interests of both sides to be close to each other.”
The portal notes that earlier Deputy FM of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mamad-Guliev told journalists that Azerbaijan have no intention to sign Association Agreement with EU in the near future.
Malena Mard while answering to the question about the progress of negotiations on the Common Aviation Area between EU and Azerbaijan said, “We are ready to work with Azerbaijan and hold the next round of negotiations.”
