Ukrainian envoy: Crimea referendum illegal
The so-called March 16 referendum on Crimea is illegal, anti-constitutional and contradicts the international norms. It is destabilizing the situation, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Armenia Ivan Kukhta told reporters in Yerevan.
As regards the stance of Armenian authorities on the Ukraine events, the envoy said that Armenia’s President said in his statement in Dublin that Armenia is in favor of a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine crisis.
Speaking about the Armenian community of Ukraine, Mr Kukhta said that the Ukrainian state does everything possible for the development of national minorities, including the Armenian community. He reminded that two ethnic Armenians killed in Kiev clashes were active citizens of Ukraine.
