Syria war organized by Friends of Syria Group - activist

Press TV has conducted an interview with Ken Stone with the Hamilton Coalition to Stop the War from Ontario, about the atrocities taking place by al-Qaeda-linked groups in Syria.

- Mr. Stone, the fact that there are a few regional countries supporting and funding terrorism in Syria, what would be the consequences for these countries?

- Well we have to note that this Saturday March 15th is the third anniversary of the illegal aggression against the sovereign state of Syria. After three long years, these mercenaries have been carrying out, they are laying waste to the civilian infrastructure of Syria, they have been committing all kinds of atrocities and war crimes, they have killed tens of thousands of people and they have made millions into refugees.

From the very start it has been clear now that these people are terrorists and there has never been an Arab Spring in Syria. From the very start this has been something that has been organized by the Friends of Syria Group including those countries such as Canada, the US, France and Britain plus some of the Arab monarchies and the frontline states such as Jordan and Turkey.

These people like such as Obama and Harper are the supreme criminals. They have committed a supreme crime according to the Nuremberg War Crime Tribunal after the Second World War of starting a war of aggression against a sovereign country, namely Syria.

The puppets that were there out on the streets committing these horrible atrocities every day, their strings are being pulled by Obama, Harper, Hollande, Cameron and what needs to happen now is that peace-loving people in all these countries that belong to the Friends of Syria Group have to start agitating for their governments to clip the Friends of Syria Group to drop the economic sanctions that the Friends of Syria Group has initiated and in every country to re-establish diplomatic relations with the government of Syria. This is what needs to be done now.

- Then the thing is that why don't we see any proper action by the United Nations, an international organization that should be doing something about this? There is no condemnation by the West on those who support terrorism in Syria?

- You are absolutely right and it is shameful failure on the part of the United Nations that it has not called on these countries to cease and desist from their supreme war crime, starting a war of aggression against a sovereign country.

You would think that these people would be dragged off to face international criminal tribunals but it has not happened so far. What has to happen is that people in those countries need to take matters in their own hands. It seems as if there might even be an escalation in the war following the failure of the Geneva II conference.

Obama asked Chuck Hagel, his Defense Department Secretary to come up with new ideas and the new ideas he came up with were a no-fly zone, using drones for targets further inland in Syria and equipping the mercenaries with the latest anti-tank and anti-aircraft missiles which were paid for by the Saudi government.

So people in the West have to do what they did in August of last year when Obama was going to enforce his red line about the alleged gas attacks and drop cruise missiles on Syria. People in the West need to become organized and they have to make it impossible for unilateral US attack to take place.

They also should support an initiative called the Pilgrimage of Peace which is going to be taking place from a number of Western countries and also from Asia at the beginning of April in Syria on or about the Easter time when people would be bringing in supplies and people who are qualified medical personnel in order to help the Syrian government resist the Western aggression.
