Monument to Karabakh war heroes unveiled in Varanda
On March 14, Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan visited the village of Varanda in Martouni region to attend the unveiling ceremony of a monument dedicated to Karabakh war heroes.
The President presented NKR state awards to a group of freedom fighters of the Arabo detachment on the 22nd anniversary of Varanda’s liberation and for bravery in battles defending the homeland.
President Sahakyan stressed the importance of the settlement's liberation from the strategic perspective, noting that without this it would be impossible to liberate Martouni region.
According to the President, the fact that numerous monuments in Artsakh and Armenia are being built in memory of our perished brothers and sisters testifies that the devotees of the nation and their heroism are not forgotten; the martyrs are always with us and continue to serve as an example of patriotism and selflessness for the generations to come.
