Matenadaran branch to be founded in Artsakh
On March 17, Artsakh Republic President Bako Sahakyan met with director of “Matenadaran” Mesrop Mashtots Institute for Ancient Manuscripts and Scientific Research Hrachya Tamrazyan and architect Arthur Meschyan.
Issues related to founding a branch of Matenadaran in Artsakh and reconstructing Vahram Papazyan State Drama Theater of Stepanakert were discussed.
President Sahakyan stressed the importance of the assistance of Matenadaran Institute in founding a similar institution in Artsakh, noting that it will substantially contribute to the maintenance of historical values and study of national history on a professional level.
Architect Arthur Meschyan presented a project of capital reconstruction of Stepanakert Drama Theater building.
Bako Sahakyan noted that the main theater of Artsakh, being one of the most significant cultural centers of the republic, must have building conditions corresponding to contemporary standards, and in this context highlighted the cooperation with the leading architects of Armenia, considering it among the preconditions for successful realization of planned activities.
NKR Minister of Culture and Youth Affairs Narine Aghabalyan and other officials were present at the meeting, the press service of Artsakh Republic President reports.
