World’s happiest people live on Caribbean islands
Head of Sociometer Research Center, sociologist Aharon Adibekyan presented results of a recent survey at a press conference dedicated to the International Day of Happiness, which is observed today. The sociologist noted that few Armenian respondents consider themselves happy and lucky.
The expert said that the formula of happiness is “To be able to overcome difficulties.”
As regards the happiest people in the world, according to Adibekyan, they are the inhabitants of Caribbean islands: they have low demands and large possibilities to satisfy their demands.
In 2012, the United Nations (UN) declared March 20 to be observed as the International Day of Happiness. The day recognizes that happiness is a fundamental human goal, and calls upon countries to approach public policies in ways that improve the well being of all peoples.
